First round of Vitamin A-plus campaign will begin on July 16. The vaccination will be arranged at 1.40 lakhs centers across the country.
The campaign will remain open from 8:00am to 4:00pm on the day.
This was informed in a central advocacy meeting organized by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Health Department on Thursday (June 23).
DSCC chief health official Brigadier General (retd) Dr Mohammad Saidur Rahman chaired the program also attended by UNICEF and WHO representatives.
In first round of Vitamin A-plus campaign it has been fixed to feed blue capsules to 51.569 thousands infants aged between 6 and 11 months at DSCC area.
Apart from this, as many as 335,500 infants aged from 12 to 59 months will be fed red capsules.
A total of 4,461 thousands volunteers and 286 supervisors will observe the campaign to feed Vitamin A capsules at DSCC area.
However, vitamin A capsules will also be fed at 1.20 lakhs vaccination centers across the country. There will also be 20 thousands of temporary centers at bus, rail and launch stations and ferry-ghats.
Moreover, this year vitamin ‘A’ capsules will be brought from Copenhagen.
